How it all started
In 2018 a few local high-end car collectors collaborated with the Historical Vehicle Association to create a stop in the Middleburg area for the Washington DC-centric USA Warm Up pilot project. Among the regional stops for that initial 15-car effort were Middleburg’s Red Fox Inn and the Great Meadow Events Center in The Plains, Virginia.
Time Trial Planning
In 2019 a small host committee provided planning, funding and technical assistance for the project. The team designed Middleburg’s welcome and green flag start box event; curated cars and drivers for media appearances and traveled with the Mille Miglia planners to find both suitable routes and closed-road venues for official Time Trials, including the roads of Creighton Farms. After a two year hiatus due to Covid, the 1000 Miglia is returning in 2022.
The Then and Now Auto Showcase
In addition to hosting official Time Trial events, Creighton Farms is the venue for the very popular Then & Now Auto Showcase featuring Cars and Cappuccino. Last year it was the start of The Drive Middleburg Road Rally, a 70-mile tour of the historic Virginia Piedmont. This has been replaced this year by the far more challenging and prestigious 4 day, 500 mile Mille Miglia Warm Up USA driving event.
